Gas costs more and more
Gas costs more and more, it has exceeded 300 euros per megawatt hour for the first time and with the arrival of the cold weather it could continue to rise, putting many production activities in difficulty.
With the arrival of the cold season, and a consequent increase in demand, things could get even worse, given Europe's dependence on Russian gas.
The link below provides the explanation for the increase in gas (source: Ilpost)

Energy crisis: Is Italy different?
What's happening to energy prices? And why is Italy among the most penalized countries in Europe? How does the government respond to this emergency?
In Italy, the net price of electricity for industry in January was the second highest in Europe: 225 euros per megawatt hour. The increase in the cost of electricity is nothing more than a reflection of the very strong increase in gas prices in Europe.
Gas prices initially increased for economic and geopolitical reasons: the post-lockdown economic recovery proved to be faster than expected, increasing the demand for gas and on the other hand European electricity production from renewable energy (especially wind) in 2021 turned out to be lower, increasing the use of gas.
